Sabiston Named PAS Award Winner

Pat Sabiston, owner of The Write Place, a Panama City-based marketing and public relations firm, has been named the Robin Mays Award Winner.  This was announced at the recent Publishers Association of the South's Annual Winter Conference held in New Orleans.

The Robin Mays Award, named in honor of the legendary Publishers Weekly representative, who was a co-founder of Publishers Association of the South (PAS), is given to an individual who has made a substantial contribution to book publishing in the region. (Sabiston served as Association Executive for
PAS for more than a decade.)

Pat is a native of North Carolina and was raised in the Piedmont area in both Greensboro and Charlotte. After graduating from King's College in Charlotte, she began her career in writing and publishing that encompassed working within the industries of newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, and book publishing before opening her own firm.

Since 1985, The Write Place has provided writing, marketing, public relations and consulting to numerous clients in the region. Ms. Sabiston relocated The Write Place to Panama City in 1992 and most recently was elected to the Bay County School Board.
